FANTASY PROFILE: JOSH RUTLEDGE, SS, LOS ANGELES ANGELS
LWOS Ranking 24, Captain’s Value: -$4.05
Slated to takeover the second base vacancy left behind by Howie Kendrick, Josh Rutledge offers sneaky upside very late in the draft. A better minor league player whose major league statistics have left much to be desired, Rutledge is a young player in a powerful lineup with a history of having played well in spurts over his short career. There is a chance he puts it all together and stays healthy, but there are simply more sound options ahead of him at the moment.
Rutledge is currently the 22nd ranked shortstop based on Yahoo! Draft results. Considering his eligibility at 2B/3B/SS, his flexibility could make him a solid flier option to target late in deep drafts. Otherwise, feel free to keep an eye on him in free agency. A hot start would be worth chasing.
