Athleticism: A

An excellent athlete for an offensive lineman. Is ultra-quick out of his stance, showing effortless snap-to-step quickness. Exceptionally fluid and mobile, even when dealing with lower body injuries. Ideal athletic ability for a zone-blocking offensive lineman.

Pass Blocking: C+

Just slightly above average as a pass protector and lacks exceptional length for the position. Initial quickness is his best trait, able to quickly get into his set after the snap. Ability to anchor is average and would benefit from some added weight and strength. Needs to do a better job of extending and locking out, and will allow defenders to get their hands inside and gain control. Could be bullied by more powerful nose tackles.

Run Blocking: B-

Primarily a wall-off blocker who is more suited to a zone blocking scheme due to a lack of exceptional power. Engages quickly and has outstanding range. Has the ability to almost get to the sideline on pulls and is quick releasing downfield. However, he could stand to do a better job of squaring up versus his targets at the second level. Is not able to generate much movement off the line of scrimmage, but is serviceable in short-yardage spots.

Technique: B-

Plays with good leverage and is rarely stood up or “forklifted” by opponents. Is a balanced player who is rarely on the ground unless by way of executing a cut block. Hand placement and power in his punch are both concerns. Must do a better job of keeping his head up into blocks.

Intangibles: A

Possesses sterling intangibles and has the on-field demeanor and off-field personal and football character of a starting NFL center. Is exceptionally tough and played through a bad leg injury during the 2015 College Football Playoff. A four-year starter who has been exceptionally durable up until that injury. Try-hard fighter whose effort and tenacity shows up on tape.

Red Flags: None

Bottom Line: Hroniss Grasu is a player whose athletic ability and intangibles are more than enough to land him a starting gig with an NFL team. Grasu is best cut for a zone blocking team, but is still serviceable otherwise and possesses the traits to make it through adverse situations. Not necessarily a high upside guy, but he should have a long career on a decent team. Reliability in terms of play and health might be the biggest draw for teams during the draft.

Comparison: Stefen Wisniewski

Grade: 8.7 (2nd Round)
