Tune-up Tuesday: Championship Week

For most of you, this is it. It’s now or never. It’s win or die. It’s laugh or cry.  It’s championship week baby. This is the time of the season that we have been waiting for the whole year. It has been an arduous road and if you made it we cheer for you. If you missed the mark, we jeer for you. Either way, we are here for you. You can share your stories with us on our Facebook page or just a simple tweet will do.

When you win, there is no feeling like having the conch and subjecting all of those in your league to your endless banter and antics. Usually I’ll issue a timely piece to my minions and clarify that I rule, they drool (you know, that whole bit). It is important to act like you have never been there before in Fantasy, because when will you ever get to brag to anyone about your personal achievements? Do you think your significant other cares about how fast you folded the laundry? How about when you went the extra mile while cleaning the house? Or even maneuvering two shopping carts at once while getting your groceries? Nobody is lauded on daily chores, and that’s why we boast after hoisting the proverbial trophy into the air. Be loud, be proud! How do you revel in victory?

Let’s do this! The list is short, but vital. Let’s take a look at these waiver wire options on this Tune-up Tuesday.

Tune Up Tuesdays: Championship Week

Robert Griffin III, WAS QB– Well it certainly has come full circle for Bob. I’m not sure how many chances it takes to get it right, but this has to be the final hurrah. There are plenty of questions that need answers, but let’s forget that right now. The Redskins get to play spoiler for the next couple of games and the Eagles secondary has been dreadful against the pass.

Case Keenum, HOU QB- Another circle completed. Just last year Keenum was chucking the ball around for the Texans. Now he could vie for the chance to command the helm and close out the year. Freshly signed from the Rams practice squad, he potentially faces a Ravens secondary that has given up the third most passing yards (3,974) in the league. Bleed much? The only way you start him this week is if you’re playing daily fantasy and cutting corners on a starting quarterback (Never played in a daily fantasy league? Click the link below and get started).

Stedman Bailey, STL WR- The past four weeks has been a slight awakening for the Rams WR (250 yards, 19 receptions, 1 TD). Although the Cardinals kept the Rams out of the endzone last week, Bailey was still able to register 87 yards. If you’re looking flex filler, Bailey just might be the perfect flavor for your Sunday morning coffee.

Greg Jennings, MIN WR- Jennings has three touchdowns in his past four games. He is a crafty veteran who knows how to get open and has crisp enough moves to create some extra space and gain yards after the catch. Charles Johnson should already be on rosters at this point, but Jennings should benefit from the new Vikings intro to the NFL.

Harry Douglas, ATL WR- This play is contingent on Julio Jones availability. Even then, Douglas outperformed cohort Roddy White, totaling 131 yards on 10 receptions. If the Falcons are committed in supplanting the Saints as the crappiest team to make it to the playoffs, then they should consider using Douglas opposite Jones.

Joseph Randle, DAL RB- If you’re looking to steal your championship game then look no further than this bona fide bandit. With DeMarco Murray’s availability in question against a soft Colts run defense, you could legitimately be charged with grand larceny in your league with Randle’s services.  Now, there has been speculation that Murray could play this Sunday, but you still have one last chance to make a fragrant splash and cop Randle from the waiver wire. Is that too much?

C.J. Spiller, BUF RB- Spiller has been activated and is cleared for practice. Does he have enough coal to steam the engine in week 16? At this point it is pure speculation, but the match-up would bode well for a premier return. The raiders have given up the second most points this year to running backs and it could be a good confidence booster for a returning running back.
