Buckeyes leave Happy Valley relieved if not happy. MarkRogersTV runs down a pedestrian Big Ten matchup turned thriller as Ohio State survived scrappy Penn State 31-24 in double overtime to remain in the hunt for a College Football Playoff berth. While the Big Ten East hangs in the balance, contingent mostly on a date in two weeks at Michigan State, Ohio State needs to win out to have any argument for the Final Four. The Buckeyes dominated the first half and led 17-0, but Anthony Zettel’s third quarter pick six picked up the Lions and the “White Out’ crowd of 108,000. The Nittany Lions put the clamps on JT Barrett (12 of 19, 74 Yards, TD, 2 INT) the rest of the way and Christian Hackenberg (31 of 49, 224 Yards, TD, 2 INT) avoided Joey Bosa just enough to force OT. All that momentum somehow switched its fickle mind and Ohio State won the final three possessions with two touchdowns and a stop to win it on Bosa’s sack of Hackenberg. Mark reviews the keys and looks ahead to Buckeye challenges in accomplishing Urban Meyer’s goals of playing for a championship in November.
