Fabber’s Believe It or Not, Crazy Friends and Week 8

We all have those friends. The ones that make you take the rollercoaster ride of life with them. This is no means a bad thing, it actually makes us feel better and keeps life a little entertaining.

I have a very small circle of friends and it seems in time it keeps getting smaller. The ones I do have do not let me have a dual moment. I feel like I am currently changing career paths, dating a new love (even though I am not allowed to use that word with them), getting married, training a dog, starting school and on and on. It definitely keeps life entertaining to say the least.

Fabber’s Believe It or Not, Crazy Friends and Week 8

Sure sometimes I ask myself questions like what the heck did I get into or how am I in this at all, but those are moments of weakness. I am very lucky to have friends like that around often. They help keep me grounded. They let me know I am not taking the dance of life alone. No matter what I am going through they are there, laughing, crying, cheering, or booing. Whatever it comes to they walk the line with me.

Sometimes they bring you down but that’s when it is your turn to pick them up, just like they will be there to get you when you need it. Sometimes they will put you on their shoulders and carry your butt to the finish line. It is all about the journey.

One Sunday I was sitting at home just about to get ready to eat. It was just before the season started and in the offseason I take advantage of Sundays as a day of rest. As I got a text from let’s call him PJ saying his wife and he weere in an accident. They were doing well but were getting sent to the hospital in an ambulance. I decided I would meet them there to make sure they were ok and see if there was anything they needed, a ride, pick up or drop off, or support. I realized after I locked myself out of the house that I didn’t have keys for either car. So I started running to the hospital, its only 2 miles or so away so it really isn’t that crazy of an idea. What happened next is the part that made me know I am a lucky man to have these crazy people in my life.

Another guy let’s say named Chris came driving up on me running and said jump in. He was going there as well. So we walk into the hospital just to see them to make sure they are doing the best you can after an accident. Just like that another guy lets name him Dan, who works at the hospital pops up to make sure all is well. It took 15 minutes for 3 of us to all get to where they were to make sure these people (our friends) were not alone. That is why I am proud to be friends with those two. They did it for all the right reasons and expecting nothing in return.

So they might take me all over the rollercoaster but they are worth it.

Your fantasy team should have those staples on it by now. That couple of guys that might take you on a roller coaster ride but, will always show up when you need them the most. L Bell and A Brown are those for me this year. They show up when I need them the most.

If your team doesn’t have 3 guys that are your core that is solid, you need to find them. I do not care if its waiver wire or trade but get them. It is the only way to have a real chance to win the whole dang thing!

Enough of my crazy friends, let’s get to week 8. Before we do that we have to close the book on week 7 so here is how we did.

Believes

QBs
Tom Brady NE, 25 Points: He is back and I believe. He has nine touchdowns in three games with ZERO interceptions. He has scored 24 or more points three weeks in a row. Oh yea and he is playing the Bears defense that made Tannehill look like Joe Montana.

Ryan Tannehill MIA, 23 Points: He has scored over 20 the last three games and going against a banged up Jacksonville defense. The system is working and he is looking good in it.

Tony Romo DAL, 22 Points: Let’s be honest here, every team is going to try to stop the run when playing the Cowboys. That will give Romo great match-ups on the outside. Four games in a row with 20 or more points and going against a poor, beat up Washington defense. He is close to being a must start again in all fantasy formats.

RBs
Lamar Miller MIA, 15 Points: I love this guy. He is the only horse in the stable for his team. He is used in the pass and run with good averages in both. He is also finding the end zone as well. What’s not to like? Exactly!

Ben Tate CLE, 13 Points: The classic bounce back game in the making. He will be used early and often as the Browns go back to their routes on offense. Oh yea and they are playing Oakland!!! Not the best run defense and very close to packing it in.

Jerick McKinnon MIN, 12 Points: I remember a couple weeks ago when I told you all to get him on your team. Now he is in the Believe list. He is facing a Bucs team that will not be at full strength. Here is to the “I have arrived” party he will have this Sunday.

WRs
Michael Floyd ARI, 14 Points: When Palmer is the QB of the Cardinals this player transforms into the WR2 everyone that drafted him was hoping for. He is involved in the game plan and Palmer finds this player in the end zone often. We all like touchdowns right?!?!

Mike Wallace MIA, 12 Points: This guy is almost to the point where I cannot use him anymore. He is performing so well so often there is no point to tell you to play him if he does it again. Well here is to hoping he does.

DeAndrea Hopkins HOU, 11 Points: The offense will make a point to get him involved. The team has to notice when he was involved in the game plan they were winning. He is the main target in Houston these days and that will continue.

TEs
Dwayne Allen IND, 11 Points: He is becoming a big time target for one of the best offenses in the league. There is no reason to think that trend will change. He is targeted a fair amount in the red zone as well which is a plus.

Antonio Gates SD, 10 Points: Denver does a good job to contain tight ends but this isn’t your regular tight end. He will move around and got some one on one opportunities that he will take advantage of. He never gets old, age doesn’t bother this man.

Owen Daniels BAL, 10 Points: They will take away the long ball and make the Raven dip and dive down the field. That will help his cause and keep the targets up. That is all he needs to put up some numbers.

Kickers
Chandler Catanzaro ARI, 12 Points

Caleb Sturgis MIA, 11 Points

Defenses
Dolphins 16 Points

Texans 14 Points

NOTS

QBs
Cam Newton CAR, 16 Points: He isn’t 100% yet. The defense is putting too much pressure on him. The Offensive line is beat down and the running back situation is as bad as it could get. Do you need more reasons?

Matt Ryan ATL, 15 Points: He is away from home and offensive line is missing three pieces for the season. He is becoming a huge disappointment for owners everywhere. Bench him now or sell him for a feather or glass of milk water.

RBs
Mark Ingram NO, 8 Points: Still getting back into game mood and competing for carries makes this player not the most appealing for this week. Plus they will probably playing from behind and airing it out.

Alfred Morris WSH, 6 Points: It could be a dozen factors but bottom line he is not performing. Colt McCoy starting at quarterback makes it an easy decision to stack the box and see if he can beat you. All bad news for this player recently.

WRs
Torrey Smith BAL, 7 Points: Yes he is red hot after two good games. Unfortunately he isn’t playing one of those teams again. We will be back in dissappointmentville with this player come Sunday.

Kendrall Wright TEN, 6 Points: The rollercoaster continues and it’s going down fast. This will be one of those weeks where we wonder why the heck we have him on our rosters.

TEs
Delaine Walker TEN, 6 Points: The Texans coming off another tough loss will be looking for revenge. The Texans are also the 7th best defense verse tight ends.

Martellus Bennett CHI, 5 Points: Teams are taking him away and I expect New England to do the same. His hot start cooled off quick leaving owners shell shocked. This isn’t the week for the recovery. Patriots are top half against tight end as well.

Kickers
Shaun Suisham PIT, 7 Points

Mike Nugent CIN, 7 Points

Defenses
Cardinals 8 Points

Steelers 5 Points
