Will College Gameday Basketball be coming to Ames?

When Iowa State announced on Thursday Morning that the Big 12 Schedule for the 2014/15 NCAA Basketball season would be released at 1:00pm that day, fans were anxiously watching social media sites to see who the Iowa State Cyclones drew and when those games would be played; and from social media reaction they liked what they saw.

Iowa State is guaranteed three “Big Monday” Primetime Games and if they play well enough, that number could be increased to four. *Big Monday is a weekly ESPN doubleheader that includes the Big East in the first game and the Big 12 in the second game of the night.

Not only will Iowa State be on ESPN for multiple Big Monday games, but every Big 12 Conference Game will be televised on an ESPN Network during the 2014/15 season.

However, there was one big game that stood out for the Cyclones and there fans, and that game takes place Saturday, January 17 at home against the Kansas Jayhawks.

The Iowa State – Kansas rivalry has grown over the past three years with some of the most competitive games ever played between the two schools. By putting that feature game on a Saturday it is just more of an argument for ESPN’s College Gameday Basketball Edition to come to Ames, and preview what will likely be the biggest game of Iowa State’s regular season.

As the rest of the NCAA College Basketball Schedule is released, LWOS and myself will have more information about the possibility of ESPN’s College Gameday Basketball coming to Cyclone Nation, and some of the other stops they will likely make.
