Believe the Hype: Conor McGregor Victorious at UFC Fight Night Dublin

After a quick and dominant finish over the always explosive Diego Brandao, Conor McGregor showed the world that he is not all talk and can back up the words he speaks.

In a sold-out crowd in Dublin, Irish fans and people watching from all around the world were excited to see McGregor come off of almost a year’s layoff to enter the UFC Octagon again. When he entered the stadium, the whole crowd was on their feet in anticipation to see one Ireland’s own. The announcers mentioned that the crowd was absolutely deafening as he entered the stadium.

The fight started with both men absolutely firing off shots, with spinning kicks from McGregor and flying knees from Brandao. McGregor ended up taking Brandao down in a scramble and was able to nullify all submission attempts that the Brazilian fighter threw at him.

McGregor ended up landing some ground and pound to soften him up. Back on the feet McGregor seemed to be the fresher fighter and began to tee off on Brandao, absolutely overwhelming him.

He landed an overhand right along with some punches on the ground to make Leon Roberts call it off. McGregor was crowned the victor via (T)KO at 4:48 of the first round.

As Dan Hardy interviewed McGregor after the fight, the crowd was insanely loud once again. McGregor said that he came in and did what he wanted to do. He then mentioned that he wanted to later fight in an Irish football stadium next time for the UFC Featherweight Championship, and the crowd was firmly behind every word that he said.
