Professional Men's Tennis Comes To Chicago For the A.C. Nielsen Tennis Championship

Has the Wimbledon tournament got you excited for seeing professional tennis? The 2014 United States Tennis Association (USTA) Nielsen Pro Tennis Championship begins Monday June 30th in the Chicago area. Main draw matches will be held outdoors at the A.C. Nielsen Tennis Center, 530 Hibbard Rd., Winnetka, Illinois 60093.

The Nielsen Tennis Center is a great place to watch tennis. All of the seats are very close to the play and the lake front venue provides a beautiful back drop. The $50,000 total prize money tournament features international touring players with rankings from approximately 50 to 200 in the world.

A.C. Nielsen Tennis Championship

The tournament features top seeded Michael Russell who grew up in Michigan. Wisconsin native Tim Smyczek is the second seed. The 3rd and 4th men’s singles seeds are Evgeny Donskoy and Malek Jaziri. The draw will feature six Northwestern players, and players who hail from Iowa University, Michigan State University and Notre Dame.

The first matches of the tournament begin on Monday June 30th with daytime and evening sessions starting at 11:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Quarterfinal sessions begin on Thursday July 3rd, with semi-final matches Friday July 4th and the tournament finals are Saturday July 5th.
