Strengths:

A big, tall, and long wide receiver who holds his weight very well and looks much more svelte than his listed weight. Has big hands and a very wide catching radius. Can go up and attack the football in the air. Is a terror in the red zone and is a touchdown machine. Very difficult to bring down after the catch. Leg drive is too strong to tackle low and upper body is too strong to be tackled high. Can get behind the defense and get to daylight after the catch. Powers off the line and has a size-speed combination that makes it difficult for defenders to jam and reroute him. Can use his body to create separation in his routes and plays physical. Impressive strength as a blocker and will cover up in the running game. Sprang a number of big TD runs for the Seminoles. Good field awareness and can stay in bounds along the sideline. Has tremendous upside.

Weaknesses:

Has a maddening pair of hands and drops way too many passes. Will go up and make a spectacular play on the ball only to let it slip out of his fingers going to the ground. Lacks focus to secure the easy catch and is far too inconsistent to be relied on as a security blanket. Bobbles and double-catches a number of passes. Very questionable ability to catch balls while in physical coverage and was not used over the middle very often. Is a very linear and unrefined route runner who veers in and out of his cuts. Can be inconsistent separating, and at times seems to just be going through the motions. Will flag the ball and get too loose with wild arm motions after the catch and can be susceptible to fumbles. Gets called for too many fouls, whether its holding calls while blocking, or false starts, as was the case in the 2013 National Title Game. Overall production is average. Is a 23-year-old redshirt-sophomore and is still extremely raw and inexperienced for his age.

Red Flags: Raw Talent

Bottom Line: Though his talent is undeniable, Benjamin lacks the consistency and polish to be an impact wideout from day one. The biggest concern surrounding Benjamin is lack of focus and sure-handedness which is a huge red flag for someone who will make his living catching passes at the next level, and likely will fail to earn the trust of his QB or coaching staff as a go-to receiver. Projects best as a vertical receiver or a sub-package red zone threat, who will be overdrafted compared to what value he will ultimately bring to an NFL team.

Comparison: Todd Gurley

Grade: 8.9 (2nd Round)
