Canadiens Recall 10 from Bulldogs

CANADIENS RECALL 10 FROM BULLDOGS
Two goaltenders, five forwards, three defencemen join Habs for playoffs

MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have recalled 10 players from the Bulldogs for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, including goaltenders Devan Dubnyk and Dustin Tokarski; forwards Sven Andrighetto, Mike Blunden, Gabriel Dumont, Louis Leblanc and Christian Thomas; as well as defencemen Nathan Beaulieu, Davis Drewiske and Greg Pateryn. All 10 players will arrive in Montreal on Monday, April 21st. They will practice this week, starting Tuesday, April 22nd, at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard, Quebec under the guidance of the Bulldogs’ coaching staff.

In addition to his time with the Bulldogs, Dubnyk has also played for the Edmonton Oilers and Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League this season. In eight games with Hamilton, the 6’6”, 210-pound goaltender had a record of 2-5-0 with a 3.33 goals-against average and .893 save percentage. In 32 games with Edmonton, the Regina, Saskatchewan native had a record of 11-17-2 with a 3.36 goals-against average, .894 save percentage and two shutouts. In two games with Nashville, the 27-year-old had a record of 0-1-1 with a 4.35 goals-against average and .850 save percentage.

 

Tokarski has split this season between the Bulldogs and Canadiens. In 41 games with Hamilton, the 5’11”, 198-pound goaltenderhad a record of 20-16-3 with a 2.38 goals-against average, .919 save percentage and one shutout. In three regular season games with Montreal, the Humboldt, Saskatchewan native had a record of 2-0-0 with a 1.84 goals-against average, .946 save percentage and one shutout.

 

Andrighetto recorded 44 points (17 goals, 27 assists) and 40 penalty minutes in 64 games with Hamilton this season.

 

Blunden has split this season between the Bulldogs and Canadiens. In 68 games with Hamilton, the 6’4”, 214-pound forward recorded 37 points (18 goals, 19 assists) and 79 penalty minutes. In seven regular season games with Montreal, the Toronto, Ontario native recorded no points and five penalty minutes.

 

Dumont has split this season between the Bulldogs and Canadiens. In 74 games with Hamilton, the 5’10”, 186-pound forward recorded 36 points (19 goals, 17 assists) and 111 penalty minutes. In two regular season games with Montreal, the Ville Degelis, Quebec native recorded no points and no penalty minutes.

 

Leblanc has split this season between the Bulldogs and Canadiens. In 70 games with Hamilton, the 6’0”, 190-pound forward recorded 28 points (13 goals, 15 assists) and 63 penalty minutes. In eight regular season games with Montreal, the Pointe-Claire, Quebec native recorded no points and four penalty minutes.

 

Thomas has split this season between the Bulldogs and Canadiens. In 55 games with Hamilton, the 5’9”, 170-pound forward recorded 27 points (11 goals, 16 assists) and 22 penalty minutes. In two regular season games with Montreal, the Toronto, Ontario native recorded no points and no penalty minutes.

 

Beaulieu has split this season between the Bulldogs and Canadiens. In 57 games with Hamilton, the 6’2”, 194-pound defenceman recorded 27 points (seven goals, 20 assists) and 33 penalty minutes. In 17 regular season games with Montreal, the Strathroy, Ontario native recorded two assists and eight penalty minutes.

 

Drewiske recorded three assists and eight penalty minutes in 21 games with Hamilton this season.

 

Pateryn recorded 34 points (15 goals, 19 assists) and 67 penalty minutes in 68 games with Hamilton this season.
