Are the Brooklyn Nets a legitimate threat to the Heat?

Last night, the Miami Heat suffered yet another one-point loss to the Brooklyn Nets. With that loss, the Heat are now 0-4 against the Nets this season. Since LeBron James and Chris Bosh took their talents to South Beach, this is the first time the Heat have been swept in a regular season series in what has become known as the Big Three era. Many are starting to feel that this team is more equipped to the dethrone the Heat rather than the Pacers. Can Brooklyn really do it? Can they put a stop to the unstoppable Miami Heat?

Brooklyn has had the best record since the start of the calendar year, going 33-13. It took a while for this team to gel, but they have finally found their rhythm. Jason Kidd has silenced the critics in his first year as a head coach. Many role players have stepped up this year for Nets, especially Shaun Livingston and Andray Blatche. It’s really good to see Livingston having a great season after all the injuries he’s had.

However, Brooklyn should be concerned about Kevin Garnett. He obviously isn’t the player he used to be, but Brooklyn could really use him come playoff time. We all know Paul Pierce will step up when it comes to playing Miami. You can never get tired of watching King James and the Truth go at it. I would love to see these two teams go at it in the playoffs, it’ll would make for a very good series.

In the end, I can’t see Brooklyn beating Miami in a seven game series. Miami just takes it to a whole new level when the playoffs come around. Hopefully Dwyane Wade will be healthy, and you know LeBron James will do his thing. Brooklyn doesn’t know how KG will be for the playoffs. Without a doubt, it’ll be a good series, but Miami will take it.

In 2011 when the Big 3 first came together, Chicago absolutely destroyed Miami in the regular season. Everyone felt Chicago would take down Miami in the conference finals because of what happened in the regular season. But what happened? Miami took down Chicago. In five games. Miami just steps it up in the playoffs, and I know they will take it to another level if they meet Brooklyn in the playoffs.
