Barca to face the Judge?

Whilst it’s been predictably played-down, namely by Barcelona officials & select affiliated news agencies with an interest in self-preservation, there are rumours and subsequently very serious allegations that Barcelona Football Club have been involved in some particularly devious skulduggery with the signing of Brazilian wonderboy Neymar.

The news story has acted as something of a catalyst for mania and panic-stations for the Barcelona hierarchy, who look to be very much under the cosh from the strength of allegations that seemingly gather momentum by the hour. “Unethical” and downright “illegal” are two adjectives being thrown up with regards to allegations that Barcelona didn’t only bend the rules a little, so much as tear them into little pieces and wiped their backsides with them!

The allegations, which are currently being thumbed through by legal people are that Barca paid €50 million to Santos for Neymar in the summer, then (& this is where it start getting fruity), a further €45 million to his father’s “business”. In short, Barce are off to court!

It’s no secret that Barcelona Football Club and UEFA are like two star-crossed lovers and the idea that someone who wields executive power in the marble halls of UEFA’S Geneva ivory tower and even FIFA (Sepp Blatter anyone..?), might “step in” & draw a discreet veil over this unfortunate misdemeanour, is not beyond the realms of possibility. Without digging too deep in predicting the multitude of possibilities & consequences of any punishment(s) IF Bacelona are indeed found guilty. The rules state that a heavy points-deduction in the clubs domestic League (thought to be “at least 22 points”) & an “automatic-disqualification” from all UEFA competitions (Champions League etc…) for 2 seasons, is mandatory!

I’d imagine that the Barca hierarchy may well be wearing darker shades of underwear in the next few weeks & months. I also expect that many a lawyer might well be adding to their retirement-fund, should (as expected) this matter be resolved in a court of law! Trying to be as concise, these are currently allegations ONLY and NOTHING has been proven. There is however a storm a-brewin’ in Catalonia, with all kinds of rumours doing the rounds, namely that is that Barce President Sandro Rosell is on the verge of resigning from his role at the club (there are reports currently unconfirmed that he has already resigned)! The Barca top brass & Rossel himself are said to be holding “emergency meetings” over the fallout of these extremely serious allegations and any potential consequences of the alleged “shady” Neymar deal.

The legal system in Spain (& the EU) views any activity such as that suggested to have been actioned by Barcelona as “fraud”.
