An Interview with Jim Hope: Sheffield Wednesday Scout

Last week I interviewed Sheffield Wednesday scout and Rusporti.com co-founder Jim Hope.

Jim has been working for Sheffield Wednesday for over nine years and has been a lifelong Wednesday fan along with being a keen follower of many other sports including Cricket and Basketball. Jim has a knowledge of football many would be jealous of and has inside knowledge of the game that we looked to find out about straight from the horse’s mouth.

In this interview we discuss Jim’s career in scouting and at Sheffield Wednesday, England’s struggle to produce the next Lionel Messi, why so many hot prospects fall by the wayside, whether it is a good idea for so many young players to be farmed out on loan to lower league clubs, what England need to do in Rio de Janeiro and many other popular items of discussion.

One other very important aspect discussed in this fifty minute piece is Jim’s new sports organisation rusporti.com. Rusporti is a website which is trying to increase sports participation, encourage people to become officials in their respective sports, change the way of thinking about coaching and much, much more. This website is seen by many as something that will change sport forever. In fact, very big potential investors have said that once this company receives the funding it needs it will go viral.

See more about the website on its Linkedin profile here: http://uk.linkedin.com/pub/jim-hope/32/871/574 and do take the time to see what this idea may achieve.

All rusporti now needs is funding, and if you are interested in funding this incredible project contact Jim at [email protected] or follow him on twitter @SheffieldGrad.
