To say that Ohio State was a big favorite in today’s rivalry game was an understatement. Wolverines coach Brady Hoke has a serious cause of warm bum. Michigan’s offence has struggled mightly the last few weeks, and they exploded for over 500 yards of total offence and six touchdowns against the Ohio State Buckeyes today in one of the country’s biggest rivalry games. Ohio State stopped a two-point conversion attempt by the Wolverines with less than 30 seconds left in the game to hold on for a 42-41 victory. While they got the win as they have in their last 24 games, they did do it in less than impressive fashion.
It wasn’t the first time Ohio State got a victory by the skin of their teeth, and with Wisconsin losing, and likely being out of the Top 20 tomorrow morning, Ohio State will likely be an undefeated team who hasn’t beaten a single Top 20 ranked team by this time tomorrow.
The Buckeyes were #3 in the nation and on the outside looking in for the BCS title game when the day started. Now after a thrilling game between Alabama and Auburn that saw #5 War Eagle take down #1 Rolltide, are they still on the outside, or should Auburn and/or Alabama be ranked ahead of Ohio State. It will be an interesting question for pollsters and computers in the next few hours.
