Manchester City: Moving On Without Balotelli and Tevez

Since the January transfer window of 2013, questions were asked of the then champions Manchester City after the departure of Mario Ballotelli, questions left unanswered from the point of view of the City Faithful.

A huge gap as been left in the front line of the Blues after the Juventus signed Carlos Tevez. This has left Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero as the only recognizable strikers on Manchester City. Will these players step up to the plate and push Manchester City to glory?

The only was we will know the answer to this is if new manager Manuel Pellegrini brings in a high level striker – and this is quite a task that he has before him in remedying the situation. Without Ballotelli, Manchester City are a far distance away from the euphoria when they last was won the premier league title on that memorable day. With the club scoring only 66 goals, compared to 93 the previous campaign, Manchester City fans are correct to judge the teams ambitions in buying world class strikers… or letting the ones they have go too easily.

With the new season around the corner, and now that Carlos Tevez has left the club, where does this leave the club? With the news that Manchester City are out of the race to sign Edinson Cavani from Napoli, who will fill the vacant striker position? Speculation still abounds, but one thing is for sure, and that is that we will be keeping a close eye on Manchester City’s ambitions moving forward.

Stay Tuned!
