Review of Champions League Match Day One

The exciting encounter between AC Milan and Barcelona ended in a 1-1 draw at the Camp Nou. The Rossoneri took the lead early on with Alexandre Pato bursting by Javier Mascherano. Pedro scored the equaliser for the Blaugrana.  SSC Napoli gave Manchester City a scare at the City of Manchester stadium. Manchester City was lucky to scrape a tie in this fixture. Other notable results are:   Manchester United 1-1 Benfica, Villarreal 0-2 Bayern Munich FC, Borussia Dortmund 1-1 Arsenal, upset of the week is Internazionale FC 0-1 Trabzonspor.

 Bayern Munich v Manchester City

 This game will be very entertaining. Both teams are coming off of wins in their respective leagues

 SSC Napoli v Villarreal

 Napoli’s first home game of the Champions league since the Maradona days. Napoli has looked very impressive in the Serie A defeating some heavy weights including AC Milan, and out played Man City in Manchester. Napoli is for real.

 Inter will look to bounce back from their humiliating defeat in Match Day One.

 Trabzonspor v Lille

 These two teams have no previously meetings. Lille is expected to come out winners. But the Turks may pull of another upset.

 Manchester United will prove to be too much for Basel to handle at the Old Trafford.

 Otelul Galati v Benfica

 The Portuguese are favourites in this tie.

 This is a battle between two great historic teams. It should be an interesting event.

 Lyon v Dinamo Zagreb

 In front of their home crowd, Lyon will aim to put the Croatians under.

 This will be a tough match for Chelsea seeing that the English teams rarely do well in Spain.

 German teams are solid on home turf.

 The Gunners are always a tough team to play in England, but how well will they fair this year with this inexperienced team? The Greeks might prove to be a tough test.

 Marseille v Borussia Dortmund

 This will be a very interesting encounter has both teams are of the same level of quality. Tough prediction here.

 Zenit could pull off an upset here in Russia. All in all, it should also be an even match-up.

 In exception of surprises, Barcelona will most likely win this match.
